Shabbat Shalom

Thank God, we are sharing many semachot in the weeks ahead. We wish a warm Mazal Tov to all of the families.

This Friday night, the 7:00 pm minyan will be in the tent and the late minyan will be in the chapel. The Hochmans will be hosting an outdoor seudah shlishit open to the community in between mincha and maariv on Shabbat afternoon in honor of Yoav's Bar Mitzvah.

We are looking forward to a meaningful holiday season ahead. There will be five services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Unless you are sitting in your pew seat or reserve a seat through our Patron program, seating in all minyanim is first come, first served. Full information on the minyanim can be accessed here. Click here to view the High Holiday schedule.

Save the date of Sunday, August 29th at 5:30 PM for our Chanukat Habayit, dedication of our newly renovated shul. RSVP below.

If you are new to the area and would like to learn more about joining CAS, please reach out to me, Matt, our executive director, or Meg Haron, membership chair at meghanharon@gmail.com. We look forward to welcoming you to the CAS community.

Wishing you and your families a Shabbat Shalom,

Rabbi Daniel Cohen

CAS Movie Club
Sunday, October 10 - 8:00 PM
For the next movie club we're going to be taking a little bit of the break until after the chagim. We'll be watching 1981's Chariots of Fire. It's available to stream for free on Tubi, rent from Vudu or borrow from the library. Even if you've watched it before I strongly urge everyone to watch it again with a critical eye and come prepared to discuss it like you've never done before! Each month we'll pick a movie and then come together to discuss its themes, its cultural meaning, and place it in an historical context. We will talk about how film as an artform can teach us about our society and the mors and values we embody or wish to project. We'll learn the language of film and how it's used to tell those stories. For more info, For more info, contact Judith Bernstein at judith82@gmail.com. **Please note, if you've already sign up, no need to sign up week to week as your name remains on the list until you request it be removed.**

Did You Know? Healing and Hospitality Update Whether in the hospital, assisted living, rehab or at home, a visit can life someone's spirits and help with their healing. We pray in the misheberach for a healing of the spirit and healing of the body. Thank God, we have a cadre of people who volunteer to visit our members. We stay in touch and alert the group to mitzvah opportunities via a google group entitled healingvisits@cas-stamford.org.

The warmth of our community is our strength and our value. Thank God, many people are moving into the community. There is no better substitute for building friendships than a Shabbat meal. Once a month, we invite our members to host new families for Shabbat by sending them names via the google group hospitality@cas-stamford.org.

If you would like to be added to either or both groups, please contact Matt Feinberg in the office or Rabbi Cohen
