Shabbat Shalom
We hope you and your families are well and look forward to a joyous celebration of Purim in the week ahead.

Every year prior to Purim, we have an obligation of Zachor. We read Zachor to not only remember but refortify ourselves to our historic mission to fight against the theology of Amalek and redouble our efforts to stand proudly as Jews, advocate for Israel, and lead lives publicly and privately that hasten the redemption of the world and the coming of the Messiah.

Zachor will be read during and at the end all minyanim as well as at 11 AM prior to Youth Groups, 11:15 AM outdoors and at 5 PM prior to Mincha.

If you are not able to hear the reading whether in person or virtually, you may read the text of Zachor from Devarim Chapter 25 Verses 17-19.

We will be offering multiple in-person, both indoor and outdoor, and virtual opportunities for Megillah readings. To make your reservations, click here. Please note the 6:30 PM Thursday night and 9 AM Friday morning will be on Zoom as well.

It is not too early to make a contribution for Matanot L'evyonim, Purim charity, that will be distributed directly on Purim to families locally in need via JFS and in Jerusalem via Od Yosef Chai. To make a contribution, click here. Thank you!

We encourage you to "Go Local" for your Purim Seudah by ordering from our local kosher establishments. We are also offering Purim to Go packages which are available without fee and without question for people who may be home alone for the holiday and/or not in a position to shop or share the Purim Seudah. To order them or be a sponsor, contact Rabbi Cohen at rabbicohen@cas-stamford.org.

Please join us this Sunday morning at 10:30 AM for a presentation with dynamic Torah teacher Simi Peters on the topic of Power and Mutuality in Megillat Esther and we invite all seniors to join us for Senior Brunch with Rabbi Herbert Cohen at 10:30 AM on Tuesday. RSVP to Kim at kmahoney@cas-stamford.org.

Finally, thank God, more of our members are receiving the vaccine. If you are 65 and older and need assistance in signing up, please contact me.

This Shabbat, join us for one of the two Shabbat morning minyanim at 7 and 9 AM, teen minyan at 10:45 am, Mini Minyan/Tot Shabbat and Jr Cong at 11 am. We will now be permitting children under Bnai Mitzvah age to join for Friday night minyanim. They must be registered and also sit near their parents for the entire minyan.

Wishing you and your families an Adar filled with much simcha and healing and a Shabbat Shalom,

Rabbi Daniel Cohen

Important Navaratna Update
Dear Community Members,

We thank you for your patience as we worked to ensure that Navaratna maintains the necessary standards for kosher certification. We have collaborated with the owner to implement updated protocols which will continue to enhance the level of kashrus. One such new feature will be the regular presence of an onsite mashgiach who will continue to be supplemented by our standard inspections.

We encourage all of our community members to resume patronizing Navaratna - http://www.navaratnact.com/. You can order online and pay via credit card or call the store (203-348-1070) and pay via venmo (@prakash-nath).

The goal of the VKFC is to provide Fairfield County with reliable kosher establishments and eateries. We thank you for understanding that any temporary inconveniences were in the efforts of serving our community. http://www.ctvaad.org/

Making Mitzvah Moments Opportunity
As you may be aware, the United Kingdom is entering a renewed lockdown. One significant concern is that those who are saying kaddish for loved ones will not have access to a minyan during this period of lockdown.
In the spirit of Kol Yisrael Arevim Zeh Bazeh, we are partnering with our British brothers and sisters to support their community. A website has been established at theus.org.uk/kaddishvolunteers to allow those with access to a minyan to recite Kaddish for those who do not.

Keilim Mikvah Updated Hours  The Keilim Mikvah is now open for keilim drop-off only. Before dropping off any keilim, please read the new protocol - click here. Thank you to Audrey Wagshul for her coordination and leadership. If you have any questions, please reach out to Audrey at audreybcohen@hotmail.com, Rabbi Cohen or Rabbi Kurtz.
