Community Announcements

"FINDING YOUR FOCUS" -- PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS DIAGNOSED WITH ADD/ADHD. Wednesday Afternoons. JFS is offering a new program for children and adolescents who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. Services will include psychiatric evaluation, review of previous evaluations, family assessment, on-going support, and mediation management. Mikvah education class: SAVE THE DATE.  All women are invited to study with Atara Eis, yoetzet halacha on Thursday, July 28, at 7:30pm. at the home of Sharon Lewis, 67 East Lane, Stamford.  Atara Eis has a B.A. from Yeshiva University's Stern College in Judaic Studies and an Associate Degree in Music, as well as an M.S. from its Azrieli Graduate School for Jewish Education, and completed its Graduate Program in Advanced Talmudic Studies for Women. While living in Jerusalem she trained at Nishmat Institute to become a Yoetzet Halacha and was a faculty member at Midreshet Lindenbaum.  Atara works as a Yoetzet Halacha at many congregations in Manhattan, and will be starting an initiative to train women in the United States to become Yoatzot Halacha. Atara was noted as one of the Jewish Week's 36 under 36 in 2009.

CAMOS SUMMER SUNDAY EVENT  Sunday August 14.  CAMOS (Committee to Advance Modern Orthodoxy in Stamford) is planning an event for young couples interested in relocating to a suburban NY metro area community.  Event will include:  visit to synagogues and schools; sites and sounds of the Stamford community (beach, downtown, etc.); and end up with a barbecueKnow anybody who may be interested?  Contact Michael Feldstein  michaelgfeldstein@gmail.com,

YESHIVA UNIVERSITY STAMFORD COMMUNITY KOLLEL PROGRAM, August 1-14, formal study program for youngsters grade 3 and up, evening study programs for teens and adults, sponsored by the Young Israel of Stamford.  Classes will be rotate throughout the community, and will include programs at Agudath Sholom.
