Sunday, March 7 - 11:00 AM
CAS Men's Club in affiliation with the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs of CT presentsA fascinating story! When Tamir Goodman was playing basketball for the Talmudical Academy of Baltimore in the 11th grade he was ranked the 25th best basketball player in the USA. Despite receiving a full scholarship to the number 1 ranked University of Maryland, he chose to play for D-1 Towson University in order to not play on Shabbos. This was certainly a first of its kind.We are so excited to hear from Tamir and be inspired by his story and dedication to Yiddishkeit. To register, click here.

Kidney Donor Search  David Svartz's father is in desperate need of a kidney. He's on dialysis right now, but needs to find a donor. His family has partnered with a non-profit program called Renewal that helps match kidney donors with those in need. One of the ways this works is by getting as many people as possible to join in a Zoom call to learn more about kidney donation and to hopefully volunteer to get tested to be a potential match. The Zoom call will be this Sunday, March 7th, at 8pm EST. I've included a flyer with the info, and here's a direct link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83285754949?pwd=NDd4VGNXbDdjdzd6b3Q3T2RxMmdhUT09.

Community Kashrut News  Beldottis is excited to offer Babka on Fridays (working on Kokosh) beginning March 12th

Agudath Sholom will be participating in the National Infertility Awareness Shabbat - March 12-13 IAS is Yesh Tikva's communal response to infertility. On a micro level it is a means of showing the 1 in 8 within each community that they are seen and supported. On a macro level it is a way of joining together with communities across the world in solidarity for all the men and women facing infertility and showing them that this issue is important to the Jewish world and we are united to end the stigma, shame and silence surrounding this topic. By coming together we can remove the isolation and shame felt by these couples, and CREATE SPACE for them within our communities as they navigate this complicated, expensive and emotional roller coaster of infertility. We will add a special tefillah during the Torah reading. To learn more, visit https://yeshtikva.org/supporting-others/infertility-awareness-shabbat/ or contact Rabbi Cohen or Dena Block, Yoetzet Halacha. Below are some helpful reminders about infertility. May the families who are yearning to have children of their own be blessed with simcha and joy in the year ahead!

Making Mitzvah Moment Opportunity Meet the Challenge: Reveal Light Everywhere!

Making Mitzvah Moments and the Stamford Jewish Community are providing meals this week from Soosh, 613 and Navaratna to the National Guard and the Community Health Center volunteers administering vaccines at the Lord and Taylor parking lot.

Already the effort sparked an idea with BCHA and JCC to make thank you cards for the volunteers and offer to provide more meals in the future. There is so much that unites all of us and we can build a world of kindness one step at a time.

If you would like to support our local effort, please be in touch with Rabbi Cohen. Let's Make Mitzvah Moments everywhere! click here for a short clip of words from Rabbi Cohen and volunteers from National Guard and Community Health Center.

From Amy Taylor - Wester Region Chair of Community Health Center:"Wow- this is wonderful. Your kindness is definitely felt by my team. They LOVED the warm food today and I know the artwork by the 8th graders will be so well received and appreciated. I have shared with so many people today how kind you were in coming to visit and deliver lunch and share a blessing for the team. The Mitzvah moment was wonderful."
