IDF Veterans We are blessed with a number of veterans in our community, who fought for the freedom and welfare of the State of Israel. We invite all IDF veterans to join us for our community observance of Yom Hazikaron and Yom Haatzmaut on May 1st, where they wil be honored with leading us in the lighting of memorial candles for Israel's fallen. We pray in the mi'sheberach for a healing of the spirit and healing of the body. Thank God, we have a cadre of people who volunteer to visit our members. We stay in touch and alert the group to mitzvah opportunities via the healingvisits@cas-stamford.org email group. The warmth of our community is our strength and our value. Thank God, many people are moving into the community. There is no better substitute for building friendships than a Shabbat meal. Once a month, we invite our members to host new families for Shabbat by sending them names.   • UNITED JEWISH FEDERATION HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL PROGRAM . April 23 at 4:30 pm. The annual Yom HaShoah event will be held at Temple Beth El and will feature key note speaker Dr. Eric Goldman, a Jewish film expert, who will speak about the Holocaust through the lens of the cinema. Also featured, will be an art exhibit featuring art of Yad Vashem: "The Anguish of Liberation as Reflection in Art" and "Reflections of local Holocaust survivors". At 5:30 pm, Schoke JFS will honor service to the community with the 38th Annual Mitzvah Award to the Beldotti Family and the 11th Annual Young Leadership Award to Mark Frank. The evening begins with cocktails, followed by an Italian (kosher) dinner. All are invited to join this portion of the program and support the efforts of Schoke JFS to assist the community. We pray in the mi'sheberach for a healing of the spirit and healing of the body. Thank God, we have a cadre of people who volunteer to visit our members. We stay in touch and alert the group to mitzvah opportunities via the healingvisits@cas-stamford.org email group. The warmth of our community is our strength and our value. Thank God, many people are moving into the community. There is no better substitute for building friendships than a Shabbat meal. Once a month, we invite our members to host new families for Shabbat by sending them names.   • CAS FREE MEZUZAH CAMPAIGN IN FAIRFIELD COUNTY, CT Bringing Blessings to Jewish Homes. Do you know a neighbor or a friend who lacks a mezuzah? Based on the acclaimed book, History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier, Denial recounts the true story of Deborah E Lipstadt's legal battle for historical truth against David Irving, who accused her of libel when she declared him a Holocaust denier. Allan Chernoff will lead a discussion immediately following the screening. Mr. Chernoff is former CNN and CNBC senior correspondent, an award winning writer, speaker and co-author of The Tailors of Tomaszow, a Memoir of Polish Jews.   • UNITED JEWISH FEDERATION HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL PROGRAM . April 23 at 4:30 pm. The annual Yom HaShoah event will be held at Temple Beth El and will feature key note speaker Dr. Eric Goldman, a Jewish film expert, who will speak about the Holocaust through the lens of the cinema. Also featured, will be an art exhibit featuring art of Yad Vashem: "The Anguish of Liberation as Reflection in Art" and "Reflections of local Holocaust survivors". At 5:30 pm, Schoke JFS will honor service to the community with the 38th Annual Mitzvah Award to the Beldotti Family and the 11th Annual Young Leadership Award to Mark Frank. The evening begins with cocktails, followed by an Italian (kosher) dinner. All are invited to join this portion of the program and support the efforts of Schoke JFS to assist the community. At 8:00 pm, Steve Solomon, creator and star of the two-time, award-winning Broadway show "My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish & I'm in Therapy" will perform stand-up comedy based on the show.
