Shabbat Shalom

What is the formula for a blessed year - a shana tovah?

Repentance, Prayer and Tzedakah are the three ingredients.

The next few days before Yom Kippur impact the year. In the area of Teshuva, identify one mitzvah for improvement and...commit. Join me for the Shabbat Shuva Drasha at 5:30 PM on the topic: Full Body Teshuva. Deepen your concentration for davening whether at home or in shul. Recite the Shema morning and night. Finally, consider generous contribution to our Yom Kippur Appeal. You will be receiving a special mailing in the next couple of days. In the merit of our dedication to these three core principles, may we merit a year of health, peace, success and joy!

Shabbat Shalom and Shana Tova

Rabbi Daniel Cohen

USHERS NEEDED FOR HOLIDAY:

If you can be an usher for Yom Tov, please let us know.  There are open slots in all on all the days.

An usher's responsibilities includes greeting people as they enter into the sanctuary, answer any quetsions, and stand by the door to minimize interruptions at critical times of the davening so that people can focus on the Tefillah.  The doors should be kept closed during the Torah Reading, the Rabbi's sermon, Yizkor on Yom Kippur and the announcements.  Please RSVP to Elisheva Kilner at kelevtov1836@gmail.com

We are grateful to Elisheva for chairing the Usher program this year.  Thank you in advance for your participation, and best wishes to you and your family for a K'tiva Chatima Tova.

We remember the following members of the United States Armed Forces soldiers who died defending the

USA this past week:

Sgt. Sapuro B. Nena, 25, of Honolulu,

Spc. Joshua N. Nelson, 22, Greenville, NC,

Pfc. Genaro Bedoy, 20, of Amarillo, TX,

Pfc. Jon R. Townsend, 19, Claremore, Okla.,

Lt. Col. Christopher K. Raible, 40, of North Huntingdon, PA,

Sgt. Bradley W. Atwell, 27, of Kokomo, IND

We wish the following people a Refuah Sheliemah. Please have them in your prayers. If you would like to add a name for this month, email Rabbi Cohen - rabbicohen@cas-stamford.org
