Shabbat Shalom
As I shared in last week's sermon, although we live in America, we are one people. In the spirit of Avraham, we cannot sit passively while our brothers and sisters fight on our behalf. We must opt in to Judaism and advocacy for Israel. This bulletin lists multiple ways we can (and should) express our solidarity with our nation and people. Here is a link to the sermon recorded post Shabbat.
On another note, we are blessed, thank God, with many new families moving into our community. Last year, we welcomed 25 new members! As CAS grows, we strive to do our best to warmly welcome new families. If you know of new people in our community, or would like to be included on an email list with periodic updates about new families so you can host them for Shabbat, please contact me or Jessie Brand (jessieoser@gmail.com).
Also, as the clock changes, we often get calls from people who are "stuck" in Stamford for Shabbat and require last-minute hospitality. If you would like to be included on this list, please let me know as well. In the spirit of Avraham, it is a great mitzvah of hospitality!
Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Daniel Cohen
LIPS - Love Israel Products Society - A Steering Committee is in formation to launch a new project - LIPS -Love Israel Products Society. The effort is being spearheaded by one of our members, Lola Halperin, in coordination with Rabbi Cohen. The BDS movement grows globally and we must do our best locally to mobilize and join efforts around the world to oppose the boycott and foster greater support of Israeli products. If you would like to be part of the team - teens and adults welcome - and have a specific area for contribution (we need individuals with diverse expertise such as photography, video, social media, legal advice etc), please be in touch with Lola (lolahalp@gmail.com) or Rabbi Cohen (rabbicohen@cas-stamford.org) in the weeks ahead. The first meeting will be held in November. Thank you very much!
Responding to Misleading Anti Israel Ads on Bus Stops in Stamford Many people have noticed the anti Israel ads outside the government center in Stamford. I have been in discussions with a wonderful organization, Stand with Us and their director, Avi Posnick. who are organizing and funding a campaign in Stamford promoting the truth about Israel. The ads will appear for a month beginning Nov. 23rd. If you would like to learn more about this effort and how you can be supportive, please contact me or Avi at avip@standwithus.com or visit www.standwithus.com.

Buy a Bond for Israel as a Gift for Chanukah. This Chanukah, give the gift of Israel to your children, grandchildren and relatives! For one night of Chanukah, particularly in light of the current situation in Israel, celebrate Israel and buy an Israel Bond. With bonds starting now at $36, and easily purchased online, this is a perfect gift for the holidays. The more ties we can forge between our children and the State of Israel, the greater likelihood they will understand and appreciate their Jewish heritage, and the stronger Israel will be in the future.
