Beginning this Sunday, we blow the shofar as a wake up call. Maimonides bases the sounds on the verse: "Awake you slumberers from your sleep." Sometimes we day dream or live life so fast we do not ponder our existence, the impact of our actions or seize growth opportunities.
The next month offers us a chance to get ready for the holidays. If you have not signed up for 40 Days to a Better you, please do so ( www.40daystoabetteryou) or find your own inspiration. The sounds of the shofar will emnate from our shul and across the world. Will we hear the call? Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom, Rabbi Daniel Cohen
