If God wanted Noach and his family to be saved, why did he ask Noach to create the ark and feed the animals? He could have potentially created a miracle for their salvation. Rabbi Eliyahu Dessler suggests that the moral decay in the generation of the flood required a restoration of the moral spiritual equilibrium through heroic acts of kindness. Noach feeding the animals for the year infused the world with renewed kindness, chesed and seeds for renewal. Ridding the world of darkness requires spreading light. In the words of David Hamelech, Olam Chesed Yibaneh. Each gesture of kindness sends a ripple across time and space. What is your additional infusion of Chesed in the world that touches you? It will make a difference. We will offer a full array of minyanim this Shabbat at 7, 8 and 9 AM (Ashkenazic and Sephardic) and youth programming. Bob's Basics with Bob Abrams at 10 AM will now be a weekly opportunity to learn more about the structure and meaning of the prayers.
