Shabbat Shalom

We look forward to the launch of the holiday season with Selichot this Saturday night with a musical selichot at 10 PM led by Y Stud Yaakov Perlitsh and a late Selichot at 12:45 AM. Selichot will be during the week at 6:20 AM and weeknights at 10 PM. The Sunrise Service will be this Sunday at 5:45 AM at Cummings Beach at Cummings Park.

Please note the tent minyan this Shabbat morning meets at 8:30 AM. The Code of Jewish Law class will meet Shabbat afternoon at 6:20 PM. Thank you to the Ciks for hosting a Shabbat Backyard Shmooze at 3:30 PM - sign up below.

We are excited to celebrate the Chanukat Habayit of Agudath Sholom this Sunday and pray that Hashem's presence dwells in our midst God willing in good health for many years!

The Mitzvah of the first fruit, the Bikkurim, the highlight of Parshat Ki Tavo, did not take effect until every Jew settled in the land of Israel. The Lubavitcher Rebbe suggests that we learn that our happiness can only fully be realized when everyone is happy and blessed.

In this spirit, we are redoubling our efforts this season and beyond to support the Schoke JFS Kosher Food Pantry. Beyond the annual high holiday drive (info in days ahead) and chaired this year by Meg and Liam Haron, we are starting Giving Thursdays at CAS. Drop off food on Thursdays (pick up an extra item when shopping for Shabbat) and we will deliver to the food pantry on Fridays. Items needed are Olive Oil/Vegetable Oil, Canned Tuna/Salmon in Water, Boxed Milk, Oat and Almond Milk, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Jarred Tomato Sauce and also consider purchasing items at Virtual Grocery Store - Elayne and James Schoke Jewish Family Service (ctjfs.org/virtualgrocerystore). Thank you in advance!

If you are new to the area and would like to learn more about joining CAS, please reach out to me, Matt, our executive director, Hilary Goldstein (goldenberg.hilary@gmail.com), membership chair or Meg Haron (meghanharon@gmail.com), exec membership liaison. We look forward to welcoming you to the CAS community.

Wishing you and your families a Shabbat Shalom,

Rabbi Daniel Cohen

New Making Mitzvah Moment Opportunity We have delivered thousands of Challot in the past 18 months to our seniors. More than the Challot, the mitzvah creates new relationships and adds joy to people's lives. Thank you to Suzzanah Coll for her weekly coordination and all of our drivers. We are excited to be launching a new initiative "Call Me Marigold" chaired by Elior Parness and Caroine Marciano. Deliver monthly Shabbat Blessed Blooms to the Seniors who give us our roots. The deliveries will be in coordination with our Shabbat Challah initiative. To learn more contact Elior or Caroline. eliorparness@gmail.com or marciano.caroline@gmail.com.

Interested in deliveries, contact Suzannah at soec12@gmail.com or sponsor here. To sign up for Making Mitzvah Moments, click here.

Agudath Sholom and the Life & Legacy Initiative

Agudath Sholom is proud to be one of more than 680 Jewish organizations across North America that have secured over 1 billion dollars in legacy commitments to ensure a bright Jewish future.

To date, our collaboration with 10 other Stamford organizations, United Jewish Federation of Greater Stamford, New Canaan and Darien, and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation's LIFE & LEGACY initiative, has led 97 donors just like you to commit gifts of over 4 million dollars to local organizational endowments.

Without writing a check today, you too can do your part to help the Agudath Sholom build our endowment and help build the endowments of the other Jewish organizations in our community you value, so we can weather turbulent times like these and adapt to meet evolving community needs.

This is a very simple process, and when Agudath Sholom reaches our first goal of 18 -25 Letters of Intent, we will receive a financial incentive grant that can be used immediately for any synagogue need.

Join our members who have already signed letters of intent. We are deeply appreciative of their commitment to Agudath Sholom!
