This Shabbat, Dr. Elana Sztokman, executive director of JOFA, (Jewish Orthodox Feminist Alliance) will be speaking at the home of Shani Cohen and Gil Orbach on expanding women's roles in communal religious life. Her talk will be followed by a "town hall" forum on the issue and is open to men and women. Refreshments, too! Elana is a warm, engaging and articulate woman--so please join us. Please invite anyone you think might be interested.

We welcome Junior Yachad to its annual Shabbaton this weekend. The BCDS 8th graders, under the direction of Rabbi Jeiger, are joining them. Yachad, the National Jewish Council for Disabilities, is dedicated to addressing the needs of all individuals with disabilities and including them in the Jewish community. Thank you to all of the host families and to Sharon Wohlberg for her coordination. In addition to our regular 7 pm mincha Friday night, Yachad will have an early mincha at 6:00 which is open to the community.

accomplishments, victory, life and hope.

  There will be an early mincha at 6:30 pm in addition to regular mincha. A celebratory maariv will be held at the conclusion of the program.

Youth Art Contest for Yom Yerushalayim (K - 3rd grade)

Submit a picture of Jerusalem, in any media. This includes drawing, painting and collage. You can work from photos and pictures of Jerusalem

 Essay Contest for Yom Yerushalayim (4th -8th grade)

Submit a 200-500 word essay titled "Why I Love Jerusalem"

You are encouraged to use any resource to learn about Jerusalem

Deadline for both contests is Friday April 26th

Submissions will be judged anonymously and objectively

We will display artwork in shul and winning essays will be posted on our website!

The winning entries will be announced on Yom Yerushalayim - Wednesday, May 8th

 

We encourage your discussion of why you love Jerusalem with your children,

    Fairfield County's only Jewish T-Ball/Baseball League needs your registration! 

    Opening Day is April 21st. Registration deadline is April 14th.

    All games are played on Sundays in Stamford at Newfield Elementary School (345 Pepper Ridge Rd). The league is open to boys and girls Pre-K through Grade 8 living in lower Fairfield County, CT (and Westchester County, NY).
      

    We have 4 divisions: 
    Intro to T-Ball is for Pre-Kindergarten kids (minimum age 4 by May 1); 
    T-Ball is for Kindergarten and Grade 1; 
    Minors is for Grades 2 thru Grade 4; 
    Majors is for Grades 5 thru Grade 8
