Shabbat Shalom

Thank you very much to everyone who joined in a memorable and amazing annual dinner last Sunday! Mazal Tov to our honorees, Rachel Dayan, Matt Feinberg and Barry Sternlicht and his family and heartfelt thank you to the chairs - Dinah Miller Marlowe, Talia Siscovick, Marla Lewis, Leah Miller - and executive liaison, Meg Haron. In case you missed it, check out our "What CAS Video means to me" and Barry and Harry Sternlicht video as well as my remarks in honor of the honorees.

We look forward to a wonderful Shabbat together. We will have a 7 PM and 8:15 PM minyan on Friday night and 7, 8 and 9 AM on Shabbat morning. Sandy Shapiro will lead musaf in the Sanctuary. Please join Brenda Zoe Maryles at the 9 AM kiddush in honoring her special 9th birthday with her friends as they reach out in the mitzvah of giving to others around her special dessert table. We will study Pirkei Avot Chapter 2 at seudah shlishit.

In this spirit, we ask all parents to make an extra effort to ensure their children walk and not run into the kiddush room. I will be launching Kiddush Ambassadors in August which will be a group of children committed to serving seniors during kiddush, wishing adults Shabbat Shalom and much more and will receive special prizes for their participation. If your child would like to be a part of this special group, please email me at rabbicohen@cas-stamford.org.

Join us this Wednesday at 7:30 PM at our annual meeting as we express our gratitude to our outgoing president, Toby Schaffer, and her executive team, welcome in our new leadership and honor Yolly & Yaakov Faratci and Suzannah Coll, recipients of this year's George and Ziporah Freedberg Awards.

Stay tuned for special new programming over the summer including Shabbat Guest Speakers on Shabbat July 9th with Rabbi Yisrael Ben-Porat, July 30th with Rav Boaz Mori and Mark Trencher on August 13th. There will be a summer series with Rabbi Kurtz on Torah and the Twilight Zone and a Mikvah educational event on July 18th "Girl Talk but Make it Torah". More info on all events on the website in the weeks ahead.

Wishing you and your families a Shabbat Shalom,

Rabbi Daniel Cohen
