Shabbat Shalom

Thank God, our attendance at shul is growing every week. Although we are, thank God, emerging from COVID and pray for continued health, we must remain mindful and vigilant. We appreciate everyone adhering to the guidelines below and especially in the sanctuary encourage people to take advantage of the spacious balcony seating which allows for social distancing.

We will also be restarting our usher program to ensure the most welcoming environment in our shul, ease of traffic flow and service decorum. Thank you to Shira Green for chairing the usher program and if you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to her at shirapg@gmail.com.

We look forward to welcoming Rabbi Todd Berman of Yeshivat Eretz Hatzvi this Shabbat as a visiting Scholar. He will be giving the 10:30 AM Shiur on "Halacha and Kabbala: A Case Study of Reciting the Amida Out Loud" and speaking in between mincha and maariv on Shabbat afternoon on "Halacha in the Heat of Battle: What The Avengers Teach Us About the Ethics of War".

We will be hosting minyanim on Shabbat morning at 7, 8, 9 am and a teen minyan at 9:30 AM. God willing, the Sephardic minyan will meet on December 11th.

Our Person-to-Person Food Drive has been extended to Nov. 22nd. Please take a flier and bring a bag of food to the shul this coming week. Of course, join "Giving Thursdays" to support the Freedberg Kosher Food Pantry each week.

We are excited about Lights Across Stamford and our numerous Chanukah events. Please see our Chanukah events below.

As always Thanksgiving is an opportunity to give back to our community. Join the Men's Club in preparing and serving meals to the local EMS and join us on Thanksgiving morning to say "Thank You" to the Stamford Police, Stamford Fire and Stamford EMS.

Finally, reserve the following dates for special Shabbatot and Kiddushim. During COVID, we missed many opportunities to share a special occasion with our community. Now is your chance, thank God, to share the joy!

November 27th - Homecoming and Graduation Kiddush

December 4th - Simcha Kiddush celebrating Life Cycle events

December 11th - Life and Legacy Kiddush honoring our First Year Participants

We are blessed with many wonderful opportunities at Agudath Sholom and appreciate everyone coming together to make our shul and community such a special place. God willing we will share more good news in the weeks ahead.

Wishing you and your families a Shabbat Shalom and Happy Thanksgiving week,

Rabbi Daniel Cohen
