Shabbat Shalom

Tonight begins Shabbat Chazon, which is the last of the three Shabbatot prior to Tisha B'Av which begins Saturday night. We celebrate Shabbat as usual despite the proximity to the saddest day on the Jewish calendar, but we do chant the beginning of Lecha Dodi and the Haftorah to the tune of Eicha, lamentations. Yet, as always, the strength of the Jewish people is our belief in the ultimate redemption and never losing hope. This is reflected in the changing of the tunes to upbeat ones. God willing, the visions of rebuilding and redemption will be realized very soon.

Please note the schedule for Shabbat and Tisha B'Av. Mincha will be early on Shabbat afternoon at 6:00 PM.

If you are new to the area and would like to learn more about joining CAS, please reach out to me, Matt, our executive director, or Meg Haron, membership chair at meghanharon@gmail.com. We look forward to welcoming you to the CAS community.

We offer a full array of minyanim and youth groups this Shabbat. Youth groups begin at 10 AM.

God willing, as we mourn the loss of the Beit Hamikdash, the Temple in Jerusalem, we will merit to see a time of joy, rebuilding and peace very soon.

Wishing you and your families a Shabbat Shalom,

Rabbi Daniel Cohen
