One of the most elusive mitzvot in the Torah is the red heifer which highlights the beginning of Parshat Chukat. Yet, the idea of a mechanism for forging spiritual renewal resonates with us. One of the timeless vehicles is immersion in the mikvah. Last week, the Minnie Manger - Marsha Lieberman Mikvah hosted a wonderful educational event with Rabbi Meir Soloveichik, with a record turnout in support of the mikvah.
From time immemorial, a mikvah anchors a Jewish community and guarantees her future. In this spirit, it was very special this week to read about a fascinating mikvah story in CT. One of the key leaders in the project is Dr. Stu Miller, a former congregant of mine at the Young Israel of West Hartford. He shared the official story which you can read here. Whether in Chesterfield, Stamford, or Jerusalem, the mikvah reminds us and challenges us of our eternal commitment to forge a path for ongoing Jewish renewal.

Wishing you and your families a Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Daniel Cohen
