Announcement from the Vaad Hakashrus of Fairfield County

October 29, 2010  21 Cheshvan, 5771

We are very excited to announce that Stamford will have a new kosher butcher and bakery under our supervision with this Wednesday's grand opening of the Fairway Market at Harbor Point (699 Canal Street). Our Vaad is excited to partner with Rabbi Avrohom Marmorstein of Mehadrin Kashrus, who has a sterling reputation in the world of kashrut and supervises other Fairway Markets in the tri-state area.

The kosher meat department will feature a mashgiach temidi (full-time kosher supervisor) who will also supervise the bakery. Fresh meat will be packed daily in the fresh glatt kosher meat department, and you can even place orders from in-store phones (203.388.9815).  The bakery will clearly distinguish what is parve and what is dairy. The store will also feature a kosher grocery aisle, which will not be under our supervision, so please make sure the products bear accepted and appropriate certifications.  The same apples to the liquor store adjacent to the market.

We would like to offer our heartfelt gratitude to the SKAC (Stamford Kosher Activists Committee) and its chairman Avi Grief for their important work on behalf of our kosher community.

We are thrilled to be able to supervise this establishment and to be partnering with Rabbi Marmorstein and Moshe Morrison, the Director of Kosher Foods at the Stamford Fairway.

Please contact us with any questions or comments.
